Living in Coconut Grove, Miami
One of my 10 Best Places to Live in Miami in 2026
Coconut Grove is Miami's oldest neighborhood and, for many people, its most relaxed. Big banyan trees shade the streets, sailboats fill the marinas, and the village center is full of cafés, shops and restaurants. It feels green and calm, yet Brickell and Downtown are only about 10 minutes away.
Why people love Coconut Grove
-
Right on Biscayne Bay, with Peacock Park, Kennedy Park and the bayfront trail
-
Dinner Key Marina and several sailing and yacht clubs
-
A walkable village center around CocoWalk and Main Highway
-
Good private schools in the area, popular with families
-
Close to Brickell, Coral Gables and Key Biscayne
Coconut Grove real estate
Coconut Grove has everything from 1920s cottages to modern estates and luxury bayfront condos. It is one of Miami's strongest seller's markets right now: there are few homes for sale, and waterfront properties are among the most expensive in the city. Condos start in the high six figures, while single-family homes generally start above $1 million.
Who Coconut Grove suits
Families, boat owners, and anyone who wants nature and a village feel close to the city.
My tip
Inventory is low, so good homes sell fast. Ask me for a search alert, and I'll send you new listings the day they come on the market.
